His expertise spans the full spectrum of BioPharma roles, from Chief Technology Officer to Staff Scientist. Marty has successfully placed high-caliber professionals across a wide range of therapeutic modalities and innovative platforms for leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to founding Engage Scientific, Marty established and led two specialized recruiting firms – EnDevor Scientific and CaneySmith Group – both focused on development, operations, and technical leadership positions within the BioPharma sector.
He specializes in recruiting for critical functional areas, including CMC, Technical Operations, Program / Project Management, and Quality.
Recognized as an industry expert, he has been quoted in The Boston Globe on staffing and recruiting trends in the Life Sciences industry.
A Massachusetts native, Marty earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He currently resides in Melrose, MA.

His deep industry knowledge and consultative approach consistently enable him to identify and secure high-impact leaders who drive operational excellence and strategic growth.
Before transitioning into executive search, Paul spent 15 years in the nonprofit sector, where he led large-scale expansion initiatives and successfully launched impactful programs across multiple U.S. cities for two prominent national organizations. This experience honed his ability to build strong relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and deliver results in mission-driven settings – skills he now leverages to provide exceptional service to both clients and candidates.

Alana is an accomplished Principal Consultant at Engage Scientific, specializing primarily in Toxicology, Analytical and Process Development, Translational Science, and Pharmacology.
Having joined Engage Scientific in 2017, she has consistently taken a high-touch approach to each search assignment and leaves no stone unturned. She also brings a diverse range of skills and experiences to the agency—from counseling adolescents with severe mental illnesses and supporting offenders in a halfway house with employment opportunities, to contributing at a software company. This broad background has equipped her with exceptional sensitivity, unwavering commitment, and a deep understanding of her clients’ unique needs, enabling her to consistently identify the ideal talent fit for their specific scientific and technical requirements.

With several years of experience as a contract accountant primarily serving the tech industry, Amanda brings strong financial expertise and operational insight to the firm. She has a proven track record of delivering accurate financial management and process improvements, and she was eager to expand her responsibilities into broader business operations. In her current role, she oversees both accounting and day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Engage Scientific team.
Amanda holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern Maine.
